Vintage Pattern Giveaway at The Hem Line

Don't forget to enter the free vintage blouse pattern giveaway being offered by Lisa at her wonderful blog, The Hem Line. You can read all about it here. These are "Advance" brand patterns. I've never heard of that pattern maker, but the blouses are just lovely. The drawing will be made Sunday, Nov. 16 at 9:00 p.m. Good luck to all who have entered!
On the subject of patterns, you might want to take a peek at Gwen's blog After the Dress. She posted Friday about a new pattern she's trying from Patrones, an international sewing magazine (published in Spanish). She discusses it here. This is her first Patrones pattern, and I'm really looking forward to watching how this talented seamstress proceeds with this new sewing adventure!

These styles bring back memories. I remember mother and grandma having blouses like these and even when I did not have a blouse like the red tie-waist one, my friend and I would tie our shirt tail up to create the look when we were about 5 yrs. old! Thanks for the link this a.m. to DITTO'S blog and for the Anniversary wishes.

I was tickled by your comment about Nalley Valley being Ditto's blog! They have a way of taking over, don't they?

I just love these blouse styles. So flattering. You must have been as cute as can be with your little shirt tail tied up to create a waist tie!

We have had very windy, drizzly conditions here today and I have spent the majority of the day reading past posts from all my favorite bloggers. I enjoy reading about your sewing projects, decorating projects and Emilia and Desdemona. I just noticed the addition of your photo. It's lovely and it's nice to be able to put a face with your writing now. Nalley and I think you look like Julie Andrews in her early movies. Do your furry friends allow you to use their new furniture?????

Julie Andrews? Well, thank you and Mr. Nalley very much for the compliment. I do have something in common with a famous character played by Ms. Andrews--I once belonged to a religious order and then returned to life in the world!

Thank you so very much for your very kind comments. I actually had the audacity to sit on my chaise lounge this afternoon for 30 minutes or so to read a book. Believe it or not, it is the first time I have actually sat on my own chaise lounge! Emilia immediately leaped onto the chaise beside me and gave me a rather reproachful look for occupying so much space on "her" favored seat. Silly little lady.
